Post these tips while students work

Headline poetry supplies include glue, scissors, old magazines, and paper to arrange your words onto.

Use these tips when you do your next headline poetry activity. Simply project this presentation on your whiteboard or your screen. Then, read through the points briefly. Answer any questions that your students may have, and then let them get to work collecting and cutting interesting words from magazines, junk mail, newspapers, posters, and any other media you have access to.

Leave these tips on the board while students work. They can refer to them occasionally as they create as reminders of how best to make their headline poetry, and make it efficiently to boot.

Questions? Feel free to leave a comment to this page, or reach out to me on my Contact page. I would love to hear your ideas, suggestions and questions.

Enjoy your headline poetry activity by letting the words find you!
